Events

• 2016-07-03: Superslab fell from a table onto hard flooring. The system works, you can see what is on the display, but it has large cracks in it. I can either migrate the storage into vaxjo, another T400, or buy a new screen for it. However, since the thermal paste re-application in December, I've noticed several visual signs of wear and tear on the chassis, including but not limited to plastic bits falling off, things not quite fitting the way they used to, more wear on the soft-touch lid, and I'm pretty sure I broke some plastic connecting bits internally when I re-built it. I'm not confident it will survive another rebuild of any sort. Plus, if I'm going to go spend literally any money on a new display for it or for the body double, that's money that could be put toward a new laptop or even a netbook, which at this point might actually outperform superslab.
  Despite its official status as "previous portable computer" -- I was using the T400 for literally everything on a regular basis.
• 2016-05: Upgraded to Windows 10.
• 2015-12-28: Re-applied thermal paste.
• 2019-12: defor helped install a new screen.

Upcoming Concerns

2015-12-29 Probably going to at least investigate Windows 10 on this hardware. Perhaps by installing it onto an UltraBay drive.
